From Personal Necessity to Community Tool

Staying true to the spirit of “if I can’t live without it, I’ll bring it to my community,” I’m excited to officially introduce the 12-Week Tracker. It is a minimalist yet powerful digital template I’ve spent over a year developing and testing alongside my team.

This tracker was born from a personal need. After reading The 12 Week Year by Brian P. Moran and Michael Lennington—a book that encourages replacing the traditional 12-month plan with focused 12-week cycles—I was eager to apply the method. But the sample templates offered in the book weren’t practical for editing or tracking long-term progress. I wanted a digital system I could actually stick with—something easy to adjust, measurable, and sustainable.

So I built it.

What started as my own personal Google Sheets tracker has become a weekly staple in my life since late 2024. After 3 months of personal testing, 3 months of internal testing among our team, and nearly a year of community-based feedback, we’re proud to share the final and best version with you.

 

So… What Is This Template, Exactly?

The 12-Week Tracker is a digital planning tool designed to turn your goals into actions—and actually follow through.

Instead of traditional planning that focuses on intentions, this tracker is built for execution. It helps you zoom in on a 12-week cycle, define 1–3 breakthrough goals, and break them down into weekly tasks with clear deadlines. With the tracker's built-in formulas, you can automatically measure your execution rate, monitor real progress toward each goal, and reflect on what’s working or needs to change.

All of this happens in just one simple tab.


What Makes It Different?

✔️ It’s simple—intentionally so. You won’t find overwhelming charts, endless formulas, or a dozen tabs. Every feature is stripped down to one core purpose: helping you execute.

✔️ You set 1–3 strategic goals that truly matter, and break them down into specific, time-bound weekly actions.

✔️ A built-in formula calculates your weekly execution score so you can stay accountable to what you planned.

✔️ It includes space to track your real results, using clear metrics of effort and outcome—just as the 12 Week Year philosophy teaches.

 

What It’s Not

This isn’t a template packed with visual dashboards or multiple tabs for every aspect of your life. It’s a lean, focused tool made for people who want less friction and more follow-through. If you’ve ever bought planning tools but left them unused because they felt overwhelming, this might be exactly what you need.

It also isn’t a magic solution. The template won’t guarantee you’ll hit every goal, because real change comes from your commitment, your execution, and your ability to adjust when things don’t go as planned.

 

Recommended (But Not Required)

While the template stands on its own, it works best when paired with a solid understanding of the 12 Week Year method. We recommend reading the book or checking out my book review (linked in the Instruction tab). It also pairs beautifully with The Present Day Planner, which helps you implement your 12-week plans on a daily basis with focused, intentional planning.
